Film, TV, and Advertising Instructor/Facilitator Needed

The North West Skills Institute is an industry focused training organization. We are working with the Collective Bunch Society to deliver an upcoming full-time government funded 8 week Entry Level Film, TV and Advertising Training Program to start this spring and require an instructor. The students to be recruited for the training will be unemployed and underemployed individuals and would be trained to start work for entry level positions within the film, tv, and advertising sector.

You would be introducing students to the following:

  • Introduction to the Film, TV, and Advertising Industry including different occupations and departments, key terms, skills needed for success
  • Art Department and Subdepartments
  • Grip and Lighting
  • Cinematography and Camera work
  • Sound Production
  • Post Production
  • Digital Skills
  • Communication and Leadership
  • Logistics, Distribution and Supply Chain
  • Safety Training Film Workers

Ideally, you have 5 years in instruction/teaching, but the main thing is a background in Film, TV and Advertising. Note: you do not need to be a specialist in everything. This is an introductory employment training program. We will have weekly employer tours, guest speakers and hands on projects to engage the students.
One of the main things we are seeking is someone who is passionate to help the next generation of film, tv, and advertising enthusiasts start their careers in this industry!

The position would be 8:30am-4:30pm, Mon-Fri for 10 weeks (2 weeks prep) with training starting at the end of April/early May.

Experience Required:

  • 5 years background in Instructing/Teaching/Facilitation
  • Strong background in Film, TV, Advertising background

Other Skills:

  • Creative with a good ability to engage others in the learning process
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Able to participate and provide curriculum input
  • Dynamic personality, positive attitude
  • Good computer abilities

Salary Range: $38-42/hr depending on experience
