Course Description

Our Food Production Assistant Technician Certificate Level 3 equips learners with advanced food safety knowledge, customer service expertise, and technical skills necessary for leadership roles in food production environments. This level delves into food safety culture, standards, traceability, and fraud prevention while also introducing the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for chemical classification. Learners will develop conflict resolution and technical writing abilities to handle challenging situations effectively. Additionally, this level enhances proficiency in data management and document formatting using Excel and Word. By the end of this course, participants will possess a well-rounded skill set for navigating complex workplace challenges.

Course Outline

Strengthening Food Safety Practices

Learners will explore the importance of fostering a robust food safety culture within their organization, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This module also addresses traceability systems for tracking products and strategies for combating food fraud, maintaining transparency and consumer trust. 

Introduction to GHS and Safety Data Sheets

This section introduces the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for classifying and labeling chemicals in the workplace. Learners will gain proficiency in interpreting Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring they can identify chemical hazards and implement appropriate safety measures in compliance with global standards.

Managing Difficult Customer Interactions 

Participants will develop advanced customer service skills, learning how to deal with difficult customers and respond to complaints effectively. This module focuses on active listening, empathy, and problem-solving to transform challenging interactions into positive outcomes.

Resolving Workplace Conflicts and Writing Effectively

Conflict resolution skills are critical in high-pressure environments. This section teaches participants how to communicate during conflicts and handle disputes professionally. Additionally, learners will gain foundational technical writing skills, enabling them to create clear and concise workplace documents. 

Enhancing Technical Proficiency

Learners will advance their technical skills with practical training in Excel and Word. They will master data formatting in Excel for better organization and presentation, and learn to enhance document readability through font formatting techniques in Word, preparing them for administrative tasks in food production.
